19th century wall hanging box ca. 1830-1830 with remnants of early bittersweet paint. It is constructed with five pieces of pine and early square nails. Graceful swooping backboard ends at a diamond shaped terminus with a large, well-used hanging hole. The sides slope slightly towards the front. Wear inside the box indicates that it was probably used as a utensil box, but I prefer the look of early 19th century molded candles (sold separately). Remnants of early bittersweet paint remains on the bottom edges. An honest, untouched piece.
Dimensions: width 11"; depth 5.75"; height at front 4", to top of back 11.25.".
