This hooked piece started life as the seat of an early red ladder-back side chair.  It was removed from the chair and has been used as a table mat ever since.  Hooked in an array of colorful cottons.  Centered is a bright red/pink five-point star that is bordered with a colorful red and purple design that mimics the shape of star points. It is in fine condition (does not show signs of having been sat on).  Dimensions:  height 15"; width varies from 10" at the narrow point and 19" at the wide point.  Provenance:  Ted and Carole Hayward (Yankee Smugger Antiques.
