Posssibly William Kennedy (1817-1870) of a lovely young woman; oil on artist board, ca. 1840. It is in a classic Prior school grain painted frame that may be original. She wears a lovely green dress with a gathered bodice; the lace collar is skillfully rendered, as is the brooch pinned to the front of her dress. The simple dark green background provides an uncomplicated backdrop to her understated elegance. Dimensions: sight 9" x 13.25"; frame 13.5" x 17.25".
