Painted pipe box, Deerfield Ma, c1780. The tall lollipop backboard and elongated tombstone-shaped front pane gives this 18th century pipe box an air of elegance. Its dark green painted surface is "sugary"; the drawer has a brass knob that is likely original. Provenance: Fine private collection; Austin Miller Antiques.
