18th century pine document box, Hudson Valley/New England origin. This soulful survivor retains its original dry red wash surface. It has the original applied moldings on the base and lid. It is constructed with tiny hand-forged t-head nails and has the original snipe hinges; one is competely original, the other reworked. A vestige of simpler times and pride in craftsmanship.
Dimensions: 13" x 6.75" x 6.25".
