William and Mary Period, circa 1730, diminutive red-painted maple and pine tilt-top tavern/chair table, New England. The circular two-board top with a substantial overhang, raised on four vase-and-ring turned legs with a boxed stretcher base and terminates in turned button feet. The top tilts up to reveal a small chair/stool. The table retains an old red-painted surface with patina, wear, and abrasions consistent with three centuries of age and use. The underside of the top retains its original construction and evidence of age, including shrinkage and surface wear. 

Dimensions: 28.5” wide × 27.25” deep × 23.5” high.
