Rare group of four hollow-cut silhouettes dated 1846. Three of the sitters are identified as A. J. Perry and his wife, S. B. Perry, along with their daughter Sarah Hart, aged 12, and a young son. The silhouettes share distinctively cut bodices and stylistic traits that unify them as a cohesive ‘family portrait.’ They are presented together in a lovely period mortise-and-tenon pine frame. Provenance: The Schutte Collection; Joan Brownstein. Dimensions: Each silhouette is 2.5” x 3”; frame 10.25” x 11.5”.
