Painted decorated valuables box, New England, 19th century. Over the original oyster paint with brown trim, the front of this diminutive box features a yellow basket filled with pink roses and foliage, while the top and sides are decorated with a four-leaf cluster motif. The lid retains its original simple bail handle, along with original cotter pin hinges, lock, and hasp. The interior contains the original covered till. Dovetail construction.
