Child’s Chest of Drawers, ca. 1820-1830.  Charming rural, country piece in the original Spanish brown paint. Standing on demi-lune legs, it has three drawers with the original turned wooden knobs pegged into the drawer fronts. There is applied molding to the front and sides of the top. The drawers are constructed with rabbet joints and early machine cut square nails. The back is made of two wide horizontal pine boards with authentic mill marks.  This piece is in remarkably good condition, with minor in-use wear to the top.  Lower left knob was reattached long ago with an old screw. It’s a charming small size that would be perfect in a narrow hallway or foyer, to use as a side table next to a sofa or chair, or as a bedside nightstand.  Dimensions:  w 21” x d 10” x h 25”.  Provenance:  Private Collection.
