Appliqued table cover ca. 1835-1840.  Delicate floral patterns in pink and cream are appliqued onto a background of attractively placed wool squares in black, brown, and dark blue. The black fringe along all the edges is original, a feature that I have often seen in pieces of this period.   The entire piece is hand sewn and mounted for hanging either vertically or horizontally.  An attractive table cover that illustrates the materials and techniques of that period.  Minor discoloration to small areas of the background.  Dimensions:  43” x 26”.
