Exquisite, rare wool applique table cover circa 1840.  The background fabrics are brown and black linsey wool squares.  The design elements of flowers and foliage, eminating from the center motif, are also wool . . . salmon, soft green, red, beige.  Two sprigs of blue flowers - blue is said to represent peace, serenity, and calm.  The edges of the piece are bound with hand-loomed tape of the same colors.  This is a rare, complex, and fully developed early table cover in excellent condition.  Professionally mounted.  Dimensions:  59" x 32".
