The maker of this 19th century pine tape loom combined the decorative with the practical.  The top edge is decoratively scalloped, yet the sides are indented to so the artist could hold the loom between the knees to stabilize it while using it.  The two holes are shaped like a half moons and are chamfered. This piece was used to make narrower tapes as the slats are narrow and set close together.  An early tape in the process of being loomed remains in place.
Dimensions:  8.75" x 17.25".
