A rare survivor!  American Queen Anne mirror, likely Boston, circa 1720.  Pine thumb molded frame with attached crest.  Original black paint, mostly worn from the front of the frame but remaining on the crest, sides, and back, has a warm, brown patina.  Hanging hole on the back goes through the top of the frame, an early 18th century feature.  Original mirror and backboard.  Dimensions:  frame 7" x 9"; mirror 4.5" x 6.75"; height to top of crest 13.5".
