This is a early PA homespun two-piece coverlet.  Pieces of homespun of this size, age and quality are rarely encountered.  The center seam is hand sewn, as are the hems on two sides.  The other two sides are selvages.  Initials MCO are embroidered in one corner.  The colors are a warm burnt orange and a several shades of blue.  The blue is darker in some areas than the others.  I don't know why that is, but it all goes well together.  It is in very good condition, with only a few small holes and two small areas of discoloration.   Dimensions:  67" x 83.5".
