Rare early 19th century thin-walled miniature bowl. The bowl retains its original red paint; interior has an naturally darkened surface.  It is very light-weight, consistent with basswood, commonly used in early New England.  It is in excellent condition: typical in-use wear, no cracks or splits.  Provenance:  my personal collection; Ted and Carole Hayward (Yankee Smuggler Antiques).
Dimensions:  diameter 4.25"; height 1.5".
