A distinctive portrait of a young woman, New England, ca. 1840-1845.  Attributed to William Kennedy, this young woman is fashionably dressed in the style of the period.  The lighter shaded background and trees are unique features of Prior School portraits.  The portrait is in excellent condition; the grain painted frame and glass appear to be  original.  Ex: Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Blum; Mary Allis, Southport, CT.Dimensions:  sight 9.5" x 13.5"; frame 12" x 16".
