Good early wool and linen blanket from the Paul and Margaret Weld Collection. The tag from the Skinner Auction of their collection is still attached. This blanket has an oatmeal-colored background with dark brown stripes that are approximately ¼” wide and are spaced about an inch apart. It is tightly woven, with a hand-sewn center seam, and embroidered initials in red thread. Generously sized at 80” x 80”. In remarkable condition; the only damage I can find is a tiny loss over the embroidered initials that you can see in one of the photos. Provenance: Skinner Auction, the Paul and Margaret Weld Collection, August 13, 2000. Dimensions: 80” x 80”.
