Charming 19th century courting mirror with reverse painted glass insert.  The frame is morticed and pegged, and retains its original red surface.  The reverse painted glass has a brightly colored floral design with blue flowers, a symbol of friendship and loyalty. The mirror appears to be original, as do the backboards.  All in excellent condition with as expected loss of silvering on the mirror.  Dimensions:  overall 9" x 14.75; mirror 5.5" x 7.25"; insert 5.25" x 2.25".
