Native American lidded Splint Basket, woven with colored splints, and potato stamped. The unique feature of this large lidded basket is the early chintz lining, ca. 1860-1880.  Whether this basket was lined because it was used to store or transport delicate items, or perhaps the owner had a fanciful flair, it's a special and singular piece of folk art.
Dimensions with lid:  15" x 15" x 14.5".
