Native American lidded Splint Basket is woven with colored splints and potato stamped. The unique feature of this large lidded basket that the interior of the basket and lid is lined with early chintz that dates from 1860-1880.  Perhaps this basket was lined because it was used to store or transport delicate items, or maybe the owner had a fanciful flair, it is a special and singular piece of folk art.  Dimensions with lid:  15" x 15" x 14.5".
