A very folky 19th century applique and embroidered textile from PA.  A variety of motifs - horse, hearts, birds, cats, deer, flowers, and stars - are hand sewn onto an early mustard colored cotton homespun base fabric.  The edges of the decorative motifs are embroidered with a feather stitch in different colored wools.   The black border is hand sewn onto the piece.  Professionally mounted for hanging.  Small areas of darned repairs; minor scattered discoloration. Provenance:  Lefkowitz Collection; Jackie Radwin; Olde Hope Antiques; PA Collection. Dimensions:  47" x 29".
